Obama seeks new sanctions on North Korea

The world condemns the nuclear test

On Friday North Korea said that the fifth nuclear test was conducted. This was confirmed by South Korea and Japan after the earthquake registered near the region that Pyongyang used for this matter. West condemned this act and China and Japan began testing whether the radiation in the region is increased.

US President Barack Obama condemned the latest nuclear test that North Korea made, and said he would seek new sanctions against Pyongyang. Obama’s remarks are part of condemnations from many world leaders after North Korea said that the sample would allow to finally build weapons which will be stronger, smaller and lighter. Obama consulted with the leaders of Japan and South Korea, after being informed of the trial. The US president said that additional “significant” steps, including new sanctions on North Korea will be discussed at the Security Council of the UN.
