Man robbed a bank because he would rather be in prison than at home with his wife

Man charged with a bank robbery in Kansas says he prefers to go in prison than to live with his wife.

Lawrence Ripley is a 70 year old from Kansas, that submitted a note to the employee in the bank, told him he had a gun and then stole nearly $3,000.

Rather than flee, he sat in the lobby and told the security that he is the person they are looking for.

Once arrested, he informed the investigators that he had a fight with his wife and “he’d rather be in prison than home”.

Ripley told the FBI agent that the note he handed in the bank, was written in front of his wife, and that “he doesn’t want to be in that situation again”

He is now accused of bank robbery and is due to appear in court.
